TALIESIN WEST (pronounced Tal-e-essin) |
I lived at Taliesin for many months, and the buildings worked their magic into my system, and I grew to love them. So much so, that it was more than two years after leaving Taliesin West that I stopped having dreams at night that I was back there. I guess that Freud had been correct when he said that most dreams were wish fulfillments.
But I'll never forget the last time I talked to Frank Lloyd Wright: I was outside the drafting room and the sun was setting and I was taking a few color slides of that wonderful Arizona sunset, when Frank Lloyd Wright walked up. I said hello, and asked him if I might take a picture of him. "That's what you should take a picture of," he said, waving his are toward the sunset and turning to look at it. Just then I snapped this picture.
